This video shows the history, production and processing of raisins in California. It highlights the importance of Sun-Maid raisins being sundried. The video features small children giving their impressions of the raisin industry and discussions with farmers about growing raisins. Features a farm girl, Katie Lejardi, who takes everyone on a tour of Canyon County agriculture.  Canyon County has been identified as one of the most diverse agriculture counties in the entire United States .  Katie shows you the history of Idaho agriculture and takes time to explain how we get irrigation water to the desert land of Idaho .  Actual interviews with farmers living in Canyon County adds a personal touch to the video.  There are many different kinds of farming shown as well as equipment, livestock and methods of planting, production and harvest.

Taking the Initiative (12 minutes)
The Idaho dairy industry was facing some major challenges in the late 1990’s and was forced to undertake a major educational campaign to establish Dairy Nutrient Management Plans.  This video will provide the viewer with the history, the agency opinions and the pros and cons of the situation.  The video would work very well in a current event, debate/issues class or agriculture science program.  Viewers will draw their own opinions about what is presented in the video.
